Someone I knew loved this song a lot, and he loved to sing it during karaoke sessions, Josh Groban's opera style and all. Though he can't hit the high notes sometimes, it didn't change my love for the song one bit.

Went to school for the registration exercise for new secondary one students earlier. Again, I was given the daunting task of manning 1D's (not again?!) counter. Brought back memories indeed and how time flies! Saw some familiar faces amongst the crowd and it kinda felt good, that younger siblings of our students (T included) are coming to join us.

Was a day of good and bad. Heard some not-so-nice news about some people and it hurts. Some good things took place as well. We had remedial lessons in the afternoon and it was actually nice to see some students staying behind, helping their friends and sacrificing their time to guide their friends. Heart-warming la, I like that!

Heard the following song recently over the radio while driving. Somehow I got stuck again, and it's on repeat mode on the player for now.

I think it's all the tributes to Michael Jackson on the TV and everywhere on the internet. It's getting a little too depressing. An icon, no doubt. Afterall, he was someone we grew up with. Two terms had passed by, in the blink of an eye. Didn't expect myself to end the very last day of term 2, in bed with fever and body aches. :(

The Starbuck Chinese New Year mug that served me well these past months, especially the gruelling exam period. It holds 2 cups of coffee nicely from the canteen!!

Finally, the temperature-taking exercise (TTE) has ceased... at least for now. Saved us some curriculum time, indeed! But I guess taking temperature has become quite a part of our life that I'm still taking my temperature with the ear thermometer at home.

It's the kiasu side of me, I guess. Lots people around me fell sick this week. Sis and mom both came down with fever earlier this week. Hehe I'm just thankful I didn't get it from them this time round.

Guys, please do continue to monitor your temperature and wear a mask if you're not feeling well. ;)

I'm sure by now, most of us would have seen this advert on TV. Honestly I was a little taken aback when I first saw it. I was thinking to myself, 'Funerals as adverts?' I can almost hear some people going 'choy!'

To be honest, I was very touched when I first saw it... and I'm not surprised at all if anyone will actually cry after watching this. Then, a movie starring Robin Williams and Matt Damon came to mind, which kinda reminded me of this advert.

Someone sent a link to this video a while ago. Was watching it and without even realising, I was crying...

I guess all of us are so used to whining and lamenting about how bad and unfair life is, how unlucky we were, how badly we WANT certain things, that we have absolutely forgotten about how lucky we are to HAVE certain things around us as well as the wonderful things that are right in front of us all the time. I know I sound rather preachy here. I just want to thank the people around me and remind myself how lucky I am.

As some of you already knew, I went for a short trip to Hatyai during the March holidays. It was a wonderful 3 and a 1/2 days well-spent. I think it was mostly due to the fact that I had great company with me as well as the delicious food we get to try out. We were adventurous and greedy enough to eat all the weird stuff along the street and luckily, no one ended up with a bad tummy. Only bad thing I can think of about the trip would be the 14-15 hour bus journey in the middle of the night...

A New Term...

Today is day 1 of term 2. Can't believe only 10 weeks had passed. Feels like a long, long time actually. Feeling so tired and energy level seems to be zero. Almost feel like I have no strength to even walk around the staff room.

Like what I told 1D today, I'm terribly proud of them for lasting through the camp and honestly, I dun remember hearing any complains from them. Oh well, with the exception of one fella, but that was only the beginning... He was very good too, towards the end...

It's been a while...

I wonder how many of my students are still checking up on this blog, my fault, I know. In my defense, things have really been extremely busy and chaotic these couple of weeks...

As you guys know, there are some important events going on in school right now, and quite a bit of preparation is needed for this event. I'm so sorry I missed some lessons with my 1G, 1E, 2B and 2D earlier on. Sigh... Let's see what we can do about those time that we missed today.

Secondly, I'm also a little more active recently. Yes, I mean active, physically active. I've picked up roller-blading again after stopping for almost a year. And I roller-blade once a week now, which is enough to break my old bones :(

Anyway, I saw the class blog made by my 1D today... It is very nice, really appreciate the effort some of you put in... I know it takes a lot of time to come up with such things... Very sweet indeed... But I'm just wondering again, why 1 dinosaur?? LOL

I just heard some really depressing news that really changed my mood for the entire day.

Someone I used to know a while back passed away last week. Knew her back in 1997 when she was still healthy and active. Until she fell sick in 2004 or so. AFter that, she no longer could move around like she used to and was bed-ridden for a while.

We all know she was sick and that death was imminent, but still, to hear about her death over the phone is totally shocking. I just hope she'll be happy and safe wherever she is now...
